Caroline Kastelberg Obituary

Caroline Brewer Pearson Kastelberg

Caroline, of Richmond, went to her eternal home on July 27, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Brewer; two husbands, William W. Person, Sr. and James P. Kastelberg; her children, William W. Person, Jr. and Corinne Jean Person; siblings, Sarah Warren, Walter Brewer, Ann Stauffer, Alice B. Dickens, and Edward Brewer. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Person; grandson, Brian Humphries; great-granddaughter, Alexis Humphries; and sister, Mary Ladd (Zach). She graduated from Littleton High School in North Carolina and followed up nursing school with two years at Roanoke Rapids Hospital. It was there that she met her husband and married. He passed away in 1971. She remarried in 1975 to James P. Kastelberg. Caroline retired from Blue Cross/Blue Sheild in 1986 and pursued a life volunteering. She served 27 years at the Hermitage Home and many hours at her church, Ramsey Memorial, in all areas.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 5900 Hull Street Road, where a service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Caroline's name to Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church at www.ramseychurch.net.
