Charee Lynn Teague

TEAGUE, Charee Lynn (née Taylor), died suddenly on Saturday, February 10th of a heart attack. She was born on April 7, 1945 and was 78 years old when she passed away. She grew up in Point Marion, PA, and migrated to Richmond in her twenties with her first husband. She is survived by her two children, Alex Kambis and Kara Kambis, both of Richmond, VA. Charee was a great mom, who spent her 20s and 30s being a full-time mother and homemaker, was active in her childrens' PTAs and was a creative and dedicated Den Mother. Charee received her degree in Psychology from VCU, and after her children were raised, she went to work at the Richmond Times Dispatch as a marketing research analyst. In her semi-retirement she found a great deal of meaning in working for a charitable trust, reviewing and recommending grants to non-profits and charities. She was a woman of many interests, but her greatest passions were horseback riding and sailing. She loved to be outdoors in most any weather and loved gardening and going to the beaches of New Hampshire, eating lobster, drinking rum punches and going to Fenway to cheer on her beloved Red Sox. Charee had a great affinity for animals, volunteered with dog rescue, and was a devoted mother to many fur babies. In addition to her human children, she is survived by Tinsley, Bobo, Homer and Joey. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial visitation and catered reception was held at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond VA 23230 on Friday, February 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Richmond Animal League (ral.org) would be appreciated.
