Charles Randolph "Charlie" Gibson

GIBSON, Charles 'Charlie' Randolph, 83, of Montpelier, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26. He is survived by his daughters, Victoria G. Nidermaier (James), Teresa G. Lowry (Wayne), Janet G. Hakki (Hesham); sisters, Alice Luck and Jean Isbell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda L. Gibson; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Gibson; his brothers, Jimmy Gibson and Dennis Gibson. He is survived by three cherished granddaughters, who lovingly called him "Papa," Ashley Lowry, Summer Hakki, and Suzy Hakki. He spent many years as a maintenance superintendent at Holly Farms/Tyson Foods, where he retired. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Montpelier Volunteer Fire Department, where he received accolades as Fireman of the Year in 1974 and a Life Membership Award for 40 years of service. He was also on the champion Bud Moore Engineering 1991 Pit Crew.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's-Augusta, 3801 Augusta Ave followed by a funeral ceremony on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Kidney Foundation.
