Clara Allen Obituary
Clara was born on September 23, 1944, to Miller Ashley Taylor and Mattie Ann Taylor. She is survived by her son, Daniel Allen (Kathy); her two sisters, Betty Martin and Joyce Knowles along with lots of nieces and nephews. Clara is preceded in death by her both parents, her brothers Robert L. Taylor "Bobby", and George A. Taylor.
She retired after 32 years with Department of Corrections in Powhatan in the accounting unit, and she also sold real estate with Long and Foster for 24 years. Clara graduated from J. Sargeant Reynolds in 1996 in business administration.
Clara and Joe were high school sweethearts, married for over 55 years. She was a proud Hokie mom, dedicated church member, and committed to her friends and family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beth Sholom Health and Rehab for caring for Clara so well during her time under their roof, and Trinity Hospice for their thorough, loving care as they walked with her through this final transition.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16th, between the hours of 2 to 4 p.m., at Norman Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West, Goochland, Virginia. Her funeral services will be held Monday, June 17th, at 11 a.m., at Gum Spring United Methodist Church, 191 Cross Country Road, Gum Spring, Virginia.
