Darius Daniels Obituary

Darius Daniels, age 38, died May 4, 2005, in his home in Chester from heart disease. He was born February 9, 1967, in Augusta, Ga., and worked this past school year as an aide at Booker Middle School. A Gulf War veteran of the U.S Army, Darius also completed tours of duty in Taegu, Korea, and Hanau, Germany. He completed various leadership training programs in the military and served at Ft. Sill, Okla., Ft. Drum, N.Y., and Ft. Lee, Va. Upon leaving the military, Darius completed a bachelors degree in interdisciplinary studies at Virginia State University. After working with the Sarasota County School District, he returned to Chester, Va. in March of this year. Surviving relatives include his mother, Doris Fields; two sisters, Kelley Fields Cornish and Shavonne Fields; a brother-in-law, Tony Cornish Jr. all of Sarasota, Fla.; two nephews, Avery McKie and Trey Cornish; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins in the South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia area. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Sarasota, Fla. Jones Funeral Home is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Booker Middle School, 2250 Myrtle St., Sarasota, Fla. 34234 - The Darius Daniels Fund.

My Dear Doris,

Sorry to hear of the loss of Darius. May God's love give you comfort and may He wrap his arms around you duing this time of bereavement. I remember the beautiful Lily that you gave us during my father's death many years ago and I am now sending that same love to you during this time. You and family will always be in our prayers.
