Mrs. Hamilton & Everett:

My heart is filled with so many wonderful memories of our precious gift from God, Doll. For 24 years you all have been like family to me and I'm so very grateful for your love and for sharing Doll with me.

My heart wants to ache, yet I smile and remember what a wonderful person she IS. I'm so proud of Doll for she truly has the victory.

What a glorious day it will be when we all meet again.

Darlene,

I remember when we use to go to Joy Garden from work at Hello, Inc., ust to buy their Fried Wonton. I'm still hooked. I will miss the laughter we shared when we reunited again at Hello, like we never had left one another. You were at DMV when I met you and then United Way. You moved on up and as you have moved up to the Heavens as one of God's chosen Angels. Shine like your smile and your personality did when you were here.

My Diva Doll,

Darlene words just can't say what I am feeling right now. I can't help but to rejoice in knowing that you have gone on home to glory to be with our Lord. I just recall our last conversation talking about how we love the Lord & how we can't wait to see Him & how we can't wait to get to heaven to get our rewards. Well Darlene I see you have beat me to the finish line. I know & realize now that I got a lot of work & a lot of catching up to do in my ministry, just witnessing the things you have accomplished with only 40 years here with us. God did a mighty thing when He created you my Sister. Just remember you can't crown Him until I get there. I will forever cherish your memory & the legacy that you leave behind & that's to love with all you have & to smile because you never know who is falling in love with it. I will surely miss you. My thoughts & prayers will forever be with the family. REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS!

SING REJOICE!!!!

"I have overcome the world.

You dont have to worry, we your trials come you can just mediate on this............I have overcome the world.

How awesome it must be to be in the company of the king. For we know to be absent in the body is to be PRESENT with the lord. So with all hands lifted up, and our mouths filled with praise, with our hearts of thanksgiving we will continue to bless the lord. Until we meet again!

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths". Proverbs 3:5-6

The Music Ministry of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (Churchhill) express our deepest sympathy to the Hamilton Family. Darlene played at our church during our morning worship when we did not have a musican. Her humble spirit and love for the Lord will be truly missed. She had a smile, a pleasant way, a helping hand, to all she knew. She was so kind, so generous and true. On earth, she nobly did her best. Grant her Jesus, heavenly rest.

To the Hamilton Family, May God's grace and peace be with you in your time of bereavement. It seems like yesterday, Darlene and I were laughing and enjoying our college days at JMU. It's hard to believe she's gone. But our loss is heaven's gain. Darlene, thanks for the memories.

Darlene, thank you for deciding to join the Friends family. Your performance in the final employment interview was excellent, you blew us away. One comment was "this is the first time I've ever seen

an interviewee not pause or say ahh to transition from a question to an answer."

While we experienced your love and leadership for a very short time, the hole you have left in the Friends family is huge.

Thank you for blessing us with your

presence.

To the family, our condolences.

Darlene my sister,

You will be truly missed at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. My girls and I will miss your smile. I can remember in choir rehearsal the laughs and fustrations we shared together.I know your in Heaven playing the piano for the angels screaming "SING ALTO'S".

The tears we shed, now become

the source of life we need to move on

Our sorrows shall not be with us for long

For the heavens have received a bundle of joy

Her beauty will laminate throughout the skies

This alone will stop our cries

The reflection of these years

Should be where Diva Doll lives

In the womb of our hearts

Because her beat will never stop

She carries on with us

Singing her sweet strong melodies

Let these songs echo

Deep into the night

To tuck you in tight

She is at peace

She is at ease

She suffers no more

This beautiful child of God we all adore.

Darlene was truly one of those rare persons who personifies goodness, caring and, most of all, heart. I missed her from the day she left United Way to take on her new opportunity at Friends and I'll miss her forever now. I still check her old cubicle each day somehow thinking she might still be there with all of her cute toys and decorations from all of the United Way campaigns and events she worked on.

To the Hamilton Family: “ Grace, mercy and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord”. On behalf of the Bullock Family, we send our sincere sympathy. As the Apostle Paul beautifully put it in his letter to the Ecclesia in Philippi, “I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”. I know without a doubt, our sister Darlene has met the challenge by moving on to be with God. Through her life work, she has proven to show her Christ Like characteristics to those she felt to be in need. With this said, I totally agree with the Apostle words towards Timothy, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you”. In Jesus Name Amen.

To Mrs. Hamilton and Everett

I met Darlene two years ago through the United Way, she was our Regional Director contact for my company. She was such a talented women and we often talk about the goodness of God's love. Darlene was working on companies donating computers to her new job. During one of our conversations she said the children had "willing hearts" and that statement I will never forget. Therefore, my company will donate 12 computers to "FRIENDS" in memory of Darlene. May God bless you and keep you through this time of sorrow.

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend: someone who changes your life by being a part of it; someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop; someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Darlene was one of those rare people in life where even though you've only known her a short while, it feels like a life time. I had the joy and privilege of connecting with Darlene through her work at Friends Association for Children. She quickly became my friend, my respected colleague...a bright spot in my day... a voice of hope and insight...a person who saw the best in all people and all situations. Problems to be solved were always seen as "opportunities". But perhaps her greatest gift to me was her humor. She continually kept me laughing even in the most mundane experiences of life. It's hard for me to fathom working without her. I loved her and will miss her tremendously...but I know she is resting in the arms of God and continuing to shout out to the rest of us to be the best we are called to be. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family and all who have been graced by her presence and friendship. Each of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Darlene, my buddy, thanks for gracing me with your life...I still expect you to keep in touch.

To the Family of Darlene Hamilton,

Darlene, as we all know, was a great

person. I knew her years ago when she first came to Mount Calvalry to play for the youth choir when we didn't have a pianist. She was dedicated and took great pride in everything she did in life. I never thought she would beat us all to the finish line, but she ran a good race and is now waiting for everyone else to get to the other side. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers, keep Jesus with you and He will see you through.

GOD Bless you,

Darlene was a blessing to the REJOICE! Community Choir where I met her. She and I communicated through email at work (while we should've been working) about many things. She was grooming my daughter to become the DIVA she was. She will be missed by many! May God comfort and watch over her family and friends.

Dineen R. Powell

March 15, 2004

When I heard of the passing of my dear friend, my heart was deeply sadden. Not simply because she would no longer be here with me, but because it made me think of all the things that I should have done. Just a couple weeks ago, after finding out about her new job, we were set to celebrate at Julian's for lunch; well, she called to postpone our date because of the duties of her new job. I am just sorry that we never made lunch. I will always remember the countless times that we have shared being a part of "REJOICE" and just being friends.

Let this serve as a reminder that time is not promised to no man; and as the saying goes, "don't put off till tomorrow, what you can do today" Call that old friend, give someone a hug, live life, and most importantly, give your life to Christ.

I love you "Diva Doll" and will miss you greatly.

To the family and friends of our beloved sister, Darlene:

God has again chosen one of His best to call from labor to reward. Darlene will be truly missed at Mount Vernon Baptist Church (Westend) where she served faithfully for many years with our finance committee, trustee board and various other choirs (former Voices of Hope choir, Mass and Youth choirs) as the musician. She had a love for the youth and the church which "showed"! Our youth and entire congregation mourned for her dearly as we had our first worship service today without her physical presence although we know her spirit was with us. We praise God for allowing her path to cross with ours here on earth. She has touched so many lives and she will be forever remembered!!!

Darlene knew and loved the Lord - be comforted and know that she is now resting in God's bosom and singing in 'His' heavenly choir.

Our aim is to live as Darlene has which is to always please God by using the talents given to us so that one day we may put on our new heavenly bodies and be at home with the Lord.
