I was deeply saddened to hear of David’s death. I have a very special place in my heart for David and many of my most memorable childhood experiences include him. While David was older than me, I will forever consider him a close friend, a great big brother to Johnny and Margie, and wonderful spirit.
Growing up with David, you could always count on him to be full of life and a lot of fun. I often think about those days growing up on Wyndham Drive and know how blessed we were to share such wonderful, carefree times.
It has always seemed strange to me that over the years we lived in the same area and yet, our paths rarely crossed. Despite the time that has passed, the fond memories and warm feelings have not faded. David Leyshon and his family have been and will always be an important part of my life.
I know David had a deep and abiding faith and we can all take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place. David touched more lives than he knew. I wish I had had the opportunity to tell him what he meant to me before he died. Perhaps I can take some solace in telling his family and friends how much he meant to me and my family.
From Susan, Hal, Steve and all the Hughey clan, I want to express our heartfelt sympathy to the members of the Leyshon family at their loss. Please know that you are in our prayers.

What a loss for the world, but what
a gain beyond measure for Dave! We
can rest assured that he is rejoicing in Heaven with His Lord
even now...BLESSED ASSURANCE, JESUS
IS MINE ! I'll always remember
Dave's recounting to me his very
personal encounter with the Lord...
for Jesus had met him right where
he was, and made Himself VISABLY
known to Dave...HIS MIGHTY LOVE
Washing over David and changing
him forever!!!! David was a bedrock
of Christ's love to the world...
always there with a smiling touch
for the down and out, ready to share
his Lord to any who would listen...
his legacy will go on through the
many seeds of God's love that he
so heartily sowed. I count it a
blessing to have known him as a
friend in Christ...to be inspired
to greater service in this world
by his devotion to the Lord.
Our condolences to his mother,
Mrs. Leyshon; to brother John
and sister Margie and their families
upon their loss...how comforting
to know that because we "believe",
that we can trust in everlasting
life. God bless your family.
