SHEPHERD, David Bolen, 78 of Radford, Va. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Mr. Shepherd was born in Pulaski, Va. to the late H. Bolen and Ruby Shepherd. He was preceded in death by daughter, Stacy; survived by his children, Stephanie, Justin and Daniel; sister, Yvonne Slaughter. David Shepherd graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1967. Mr. Shepherd graduated from MCV/VCU with his Bachelors of Science in pharmacy in May 1974. He was a pharmacist for Standard Drug, later promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations for Standard Drug. He then became the Director of Medical Assistant Services for the State of Virginia. A

funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Cathy Payne officiating.

So sorry for the loss of your loved one! David was always very nice, I graduated with him in the class of 1962. I also married his first cousin. We stayed in touch, the last time we talked with him was in the early spring. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family!

I will really miss David. I enjoyed our conversations we had at the reunion and all of his work on the family history. Family meant so much to him and he really enjoyed all of his discoveries. I pray for his peace. I send my sincere sympathy to all members of the family and hope to meet those of his family at our reunion.

David worked really hard to be a pillar for his family. He enjoyed the holidays when we would get together and work on decorations. He really enjoyed the baking and always had a sweet tooth. Praying for everyone during this difficult time. Love you all, Amanda,

So sorry to read of David 's passing.
Although, I had not seen David since the family lived in Hillsville...he left a definite mark in my life.My love of dancing was ensured by him being "Yvonne's big brother" that took time ,as a teenager,to teach Yvonne and myself to dance.
