David Henry Thompson

THOMPSON, David Henry, 82, of Macon, Ga., died Friday, December 25, 2020. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kerri Thompson, of Macon, Ga.; two grandsons, Ethan and Evan; and a granddaughter, Zoie; a brother and his wife, Jesse and Donna Thompson, of Greenville, Ill., and their children, Michael and Maribeth. His ability to open his big heart to everyone started early when he encouraged his future sisters-in-law, Lee Hanchey and Carol Kloster, to join him in rides to pick up his then girlfriend, their older sister, from work by hiding in the backseat of the car. Their children—Jason Hanchey, Andrea Pokrefke, Johnny Kloster IV and Amanda Campbell—also received his love and admiration. He enjoyed special relationships with two of his nephews, Jay and Jeff Thompson; and a niece, Tina Niggel. His large extended family held a special place in his heart. The family will hold a graveside service, observing social distancing, where David will be interred beside his beloved wife, Barbara, who died in 2005, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, Va., at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
