Dennis Borkey Obituary

BORKEY, Dennis Earl, born August 18, 1949, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl. He is survived by his mother, Barbara; stepbrother, Richard Lewis (Nancy); his loving wife and best friend, Cheri; his daughter, Robin (Jake); his son, Brian (Amy); and his stepchildren, Maci and Jake (Tali); as well as six beautiful little boys who called him "G," Jace, Gunner, Hank, Haleya, Cannon and Silas. Additionally, the family would like to thank his good friend and boss, Keith (Joy), for his friendship and support. He always said he should write his own obituary, so we are going to try and live up to his standards. While he was a man of few words, his quick wit and sense of humor kept everyone around him smiling. He loved numbers, and spent his days working as the accountant for Keystone Truck & Tractor Museum. He never met a golf course he didn't like. If the Hokies were playing, you could find him sitting in the floor, right in front of the TV. He enjoyed the finer things in life: a Corona, peach schnapps, pretzels and doughnuts. He took his role as "G" very seriously, teaching his boys how to pick up sticks in the yard and throw balls. While he didn't often verbalize his feelings, those closest to him knew how much he loved them. He fought hard in the end, never giving up, but knew we only have as many breaths as God wants us to have. We will miss him every day, and leave him with these words "Love you too," oh, and "GO HOKIES!" Respecting his wishes, the family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date.
