Don Dodson, 85, of Asheville, North Carolina passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Givens Estates Health Center. A native of Middleburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Humphrey Oscar Dodson and Katherine Pillow Dodson. He is survived by his wife Barbara Blood Dodson, daughter Andrea Dye, son Bruce Dodson, son-in law Robert Dye, daughter-in-law Denise Dodson, and three grandchildren, Logan Dye, Sarah Dörnhofer, and Jack Dodson. Don is a 1964 graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University and spent his career as a CPA practicing in Richmond, VA and retiring in 1999 as a partner from Deloitte. Throughout his career, Don was active in the Richmond, VCU and accounting communities. He served on the VA Council On Economic Education, the Auditing Standards Board of the AICPA, and as President of both the VA Society of CPAs and VCU Foundation. A graveside ceremony for immediate family will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Givens Estates Memorial Garden.
