Doris Donahue Lucki

LUCKI, Doris Donahue, died on February 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter J. Lucki; and her daughter, Carol Lucki Mahoney. The daughter of Thomas and Clara Donahue, Doris was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on December 8, 1925. Doris and "Lucky" were high school sweethearts and married on September 6, 1947. They raised their girls in Danville, Va., where they were active in the Sacred Heart Church and school community. Work took them to Long Island, N.Y. and Agawam, Mass. Doris always said, "Lucky, I'll follow you anywhere while you are working, but we are moving back to Virginia and the girls when you retire." And they did, in 1992. Doris is survived by her daughter, Susan Lucki Tucker (Woody); grandsons, Campbell (Sydney) and Will (Leslie); granddaughter, Whitney Blanchard (David); and her son-in-law, Joseph Mahoney. Visitation will be at the Tucker home at 718 South Center Street in Ashland, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland, 105 S. Snead St. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery. Vaccinated family and friends are welcome to the home and to St. Ann's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Ann's Catholic Church, 105 S. Snead St., Ashland, Va. 23005. Doris and Lucky are together again.
