My dad was a man of quiet strength-a presence who didn´t need many words to let you know how deeply he cared. His love was unconditional. You felt it not through grand gestures or dramatic declarations, but in the way he stood by your side no matter the situation.
Family was everything to Dad. He found joy in the simple, everyday moments-sharing a meal, a laugh, or a quiet moment. He taught me the value of hard work, not by preaching, but by living it. No task was too small or beneath him if it meant taking care of the people he loved. His work ethic was tireless, and his loyalty, unwavering.
Dad had a passion for life´s great joys: NASCAR Sundays with the roar of engines, the peace of a campsite under the stars, and the warm sand of a beach under his feet. He loved being outdoors, being with his family and Pearl, his cherished fur baby-his loyal companion, was never far from his side, and their bond was something special.
And while he might have been quiet, those who knew him well knew his humor subtle, and always perfectly timed to embarrass one of us! He could deliver a one-liner that would have you laughing, or scared for your life.
What I´ll miss most is the way he made you feel safe just by being there. He didn´t try to fix everything, but he gave you the strength to face it. That´s a rare kind of love-the kind that stays with you forever.
While we mourn the incredible loss of my dad, we also celebrate the beautiful life he lived. He was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, laughed quietly, and loved generously. And though he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.
We love you daddy, and we always will!

Ed grew up just down the street from me, but I really didn't know him back then as I was a little older than him. I met him later in life when he worked with us at Gill Oil Corporation as an installer. He was always conscientious about his work and the way he treated our customers. As he got a little older, he moved to another job in a metal fabrication firm. He was always friendly to everyone and did not deserve the pain and suffering that I understand he had later in life. My condolences to Debbie and Joe and the rest of his family.

I remember a few pick-up football games at TJ with the Rountree boys and other neighbors and I remember him as a good guy and a good athlete. His loss is premature and I´m sorry for your loss. Prayers for all.
