Edith Witherspoon Obituary

Edith Adeline Gundelfinger Witherspoon, age 89, of Novum, Madison Co., Va., formerly of Montgomery Co., Md. died on September 11, 2003, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John Michael and Louise Witherspoon, in Richmond, Va. She is survived by her children, John Michael "Mike" and Louise Witherspoon of Richmond, Va., Julie Kay "Judy" and Horace "Bud" Anderson of Bowie, Md., Martha and Dennis Kelley of Spencerville, Md., and James "Jim" and Martha Witherspoon of Richmond, Va. She is also survived by brothers, Alfred (Laverne) Gundelfinger of Bremerton, Wash., and Boyd (Juanita) Gundelfinger of Delaware, Ohio; brother-in-law, George Robey of Gahanna, Ohio; sister, Betty Cantu of Carmichael, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband of 57 years, John K. Witherspoon; brother, Carl Gundelfinger; and sisters, Margaret "Peg" Fisher, Dorothea Gundelfinger, and Barbara Robey preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Monday, September 15, 2003 in the Novum Baptist Church, Novum, Va. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Novum Baptist Church, 1629 Novum Church Road, Reva, Va. 22735 or Culpeper Regional Hospital Auxiliary Fund, P.O. Box 592, Culpeper, Va. 22701. Clore-English Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
