Edward George Obituary

Edward H. "Ed" George, age 58, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, February 14, 2003 at Beverly Health Care Center. Mr. George retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Weems, Virginia. He was an avid NASCAR, Chevrolet, Harley-Davidson and country music enthusiast. Mr. George is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jane A. George of Fredericksburg; a sister, Donna G. Thompson of Richmond; a niece, Elizabeth Tyler Thompson of Richmond; two nephews, John R. "Jack" Thompson Jr. of Yorktown and J. Casey Armstrong III of Fredericksburg. He is also survived by his two very special "boys", Harley and Sporty. A graveside service for Mr. George will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Robert W. Sizemore officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service Fredericksburg Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 101, Spotsylvania, Va. 22553, or to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Ave., Suite 210, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
