She was a member of the Woman's Club, where she served on the Education Endowment Fund, and was a member of other organizations, including the Collectors' Circle of the Virginia Museum, the Commission for the 175th Anniversary of The Governor's Mansion, the Junior League of Richmond, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of America, the Daughters of the Baron of Runnemede, and The Country Club of Virginia. An active tour guide for many years for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, she was also a docent emeritus for the Virginia Museum and had deep interest in art history with her own private collection, traveling the world to enhance her knowledge in this field. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street Rd., Richmond, Va. Burial will be private. My grandmother, Mama B, taught me about what being a Southern lady truly was all about. Her "fairy tale" love and marriage to my grandfather was a rare and beautiful relationship. I will always keep her in my heart.

Mrs. Buckle was like a Mother to me for many years when my family was living overseas. I will miss knowing she was still present on this earth. My condolences to Mr. Buckle, Dianne, and Gene, and their families. Sincerely, Vivian

Although Beth was ill when I first met her, I could tell that she had been an exceptional person in the past. I grieve with the family over her loss several years ago since I would have enjoyed meeting her in her prime.

My best wishes and support are offered to her faithful husband and her family.

I have fond memories of Beth.who could make you think you could accomplish anything. She was a great mentor to me on the Womens Committee of the Richmond Symphony. The Buckle's parties were the greatest. They were always conceived with wonderful creativity and intellectual appeal.

Beth was a dear person and at one time important in my life.
