Elizabeth Crafts Obituary
November 13, 1927 - July 26, 2025
Elizabeth Anne "Liz" (Bragg) Crafts, 97, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 13, 1927 in Norfolk, Va. to Dr. Laurence A. and Muriel Moore Bragg.
A 1950 graduate of Longwood College with a degree in Social Work, Liz served as student body president and was active in Tri Sigma sorority and CHI secret service society. She did social work in Washington, DC after college.
She married Harry "Bud" M. Crafts on May 9, 1953, and together they raised four children, Lynn, Peggy, Morgan, and Susan. A devoted Christian, she served on the vestry of The Falls Church Episcopal and later was a member at the Church of the Redeemer, Midlothian. Her community roles included Hotline volunteer, Girl Scout leader, Stephen Minister, hospital volunteer and PEO member. Additionally, she served over 20 years as a teacher's aide at Franklin Sherman Elementary School in McLean, Va. Liz's passions included reading, tennis, bridge, ping-pong, croquet, badminton, and fast walking. Known for her handwritten notes, she could make anyone feel special.
She is survived by her sister, Martha; her four children; six grandchildren, Cami, Jesse, Jennifer, Bradley, Nora, and Harry; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; and brother, Sunny.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Church of the Redeemer, 2341 Winterfield Road, Midlothian, Va. The Interment Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at The Falls Church Episcopal Church, 115 E. Fairfax St., Falls Church, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Falls Church Episcopal Church, Church of the Redeemer (Midlothian), or any botanical garden.

I enjoyed spending time with Liz and her daughters at their favorite camp up in Maine. Even in her advanced years, she knew how to make people feel welcome and special. She lives on in her beautiful, caring family.
