Esta Strong Kornstein

December 28, 1930 - October 5, 2025

KORNSTEIN, Esta Strong, 94, of Richmond, formerly of Woonsocket and Providence, RI, passed away on October 5, 2025.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Arnold I. Kornstein, and her sister, Iris Marks. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Michael J. Kornstein (Ann Kaplan), Dr. Susan G. Kornstein (Lee Krumbein), Dr. Howard S. Kornstein (Natalia Gourari); seven grandchildren, Sara, Joanna, Samuel, Orly, Benjamin, Nathan, and Iris; and one great-grandchild, Aaron. Esta was the daughter of the late William D. Strong and Leda B. Strong and was a graduate of Brown University and Mt Holyoke College (masters). She worked for many years as a regional manager for Aflac and was a talented artist and lover of the performing arts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a lifelong member of Congregation B'nai Israel in Woonsocket and more recently of Temple Beth-El in Richmond.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th at 2 p.m. at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, followed by interment in Richmond Beth-El Cemetery at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the VCU Institute for Women's Health, Hadassah, or a charity of your choice.
