What a true friend indeed. Evelyn just enjoyed traveling . Following our trips ,she would always have a International luncheon for her friends. More Fun! We went to the ANTARCTIC and had to put on extra clothing . We rode a Motor Scooter . More Fun! we can't forget her roommate Louise . However, Louise would always be somewher taking pictures. More Fun! The Chef in EGYPT made a special International BIRTHDAY CAKE , just for Evenly. Brought the cake out along with (suppose to be a turkey) the size of a baby chicken. MORE FUN and LOTS of LAUGHS .
Ther are so mony stories to tell ., but we just enjoyed TRAVELING.
I will miss my friend.

I always admired Mrs. Duckenfield from the first time I met her almost 50 years ago. She brought an extraordinary warmth and care to all those around her. She was a woman of very high standards, and at the same time you always knew how much she cared for you and that she had confidence (even if at times you yourself did not) that you would meet her standards. I will miss her warmth, intellect, personal decency and concern for others. I will perhaps most of all miss her smile and sense of humor. I know how well represented these qualities are in her remarkable boys, and I look forward to seeing her grandchildren for I know they will be there as well. My condolences and love to the Duckenfield family.
Sincerely,
Tom Boasberg

Cousin,
I was so saddened to read in the Richmond paper this morning about your mom’s passing. I’ll always regret that I was unable to know her - she was truly well-beloved, highly respected, and passionately dedicated to her career and family.
My heart sends you and your family prayers of caring and strength.
Tomorrow morning, I will be thinking about you all and hope to catch up with you in the next couple of days.
With my deepest condolences,
Jo-De

Mrs. Duckenfield's legacy lives on in her beautiful family. Their kindness, dedication to community and family, and phenomenal work ethic are a testament to the wonderful woman that she was. It was my pleasure to teach Thomas IV and to meet her at St. Albans. She was an inspiration!

I believe she may have been my 3rd grade teacher at Rudolph Elementary approx. 45 years ago. You don't forget the name "Duckenfield." Very sweet lady and a beautiful pic posted. My condolences to her family, friends, and former students.

Mrs. Evelyn Duckenfield a phenomenal Educator exhibited a profound interest in the success of her students! She set the standard for excellence in Education and expected the very same from her students along with support of the parents.
Mrs. Duckenfield contributed immensely to our Daughter’s success at Brightwood Elementary School and we always acknowledge her contribution to ensure our Daughter was academically equipped to thrive and succeed. Mrs. Duckenfield often reminded me that the standard she set for her students was no different from the standard she and her Husband set for their Sons.
As Mrs. Duckenfield’s student, Our Daughter was enrolled in the accelerated academic program (dual learning TAG) during the 5th grade/6th grade . During that school year Mrs. Duckenfield suggested that we look at other accelerated learning opportunities for there was not a dual learning program offered beyond the 5th grade. We followed her recommendation and the next academic year our Daughter enrolled in offerings in another school that supported her previous coursework.
Thank you to all the Educators who a committed to the success in our children’s lives. Prayerfully you are blessed to have and Educator like Mrs.Evelyn Duckenfield who taught and supported “Excellence in Execution.”
