Faye Webb Obituary

Faye Webb

Faye Hodges Webb, of Chesterfield County, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, William Webb; and her daughter, Pamela Webb Combs. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Payne (Steve); son, Mike Webb (Jan); son-in-law, Lew Combs (Dottie); eight grandchildren including, Marc Combs (Aimee), Brett Combs, Laura Reffner (Mike), Trey Comb (Yulia), Matt Payne (Sarah), Kate Grefenstette (John), Chris Webb and Pam Lavallee (Ray). She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren. Faye was born in North Carolina and spent most of her adult years in Virginia, moving to Richmond with her young family in 1960. She was an exceptional homemaker known for her delicious meals and hospitality. While raising her three children, she also worked full time for Seaboard Railroad (CSX) for 30 years, retiring in 1990. If she wasn't cooking, Faye was sewing or crafting. Her retirement years allowed her to participate in craft guilds and shows where she sold her handmade dolls, sheep and a variety of crafts. She delighted in gifting her grandchildren with her dolls and stuffed toys. Faye made friends easily and leaves behind many who would describe her as sweet, loving and always ready to encourage. She was a member of Bon Air Baptist Church. As a woman of great faith, her greatest legacy is her Christian example, living out that faith as a godly wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her children and grandchildren are eternally grateful for her perseverance in pointing them to Christ. Faye spent the last 14 months of her life in the home of her son, Mike and daughter-in-law Jan, where they lovingly cared for her until her final day.

A visitation for family and friends will be held January 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bliley's, Chippenham. Burial will be January 3, at 11 a.m., at the Veteran's Cemetery in Amelia. Mrs. Webb was always so kind and welcoming to everyone. She wore her faith for all to see and it did shine! I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to know this wonderful lady and her daughter, Pam, before her and that my grandchildren had the opportunity to know their great grandmother. She will be missed every day.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Webb´s passing. I grew up with Pam, and my cousin, Judy and I used to play at the Webb home in Southam. I used to see Mrs Webb at church. She was a very sweet, kind lady. Sending love and prayers to her family
