Francine Joyce Blum

BLUM, Francine Joyce, 83, of Richmond, VA died Monday, Dec 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Bette Rocklin; and husband, Lewis Blum. She is survived by her sons, Martin Blum (Kristin) and Matthew Blum (Amy); Sisters, Judy Wertheimer (Jerry) and Barbara Woolf (Bob) and many nieces and nephews.

Francine graduated from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College with a B.A. degree in Education and attended the University of Tennessee School of Social Work. She had a decades long career as a social worker in the Greater Richmond Region & took pride in a life of service and volunteerism. Francine loved to connect with people, whether it be directing the Foster Grandparents program, reading to children at Rudlin Torah Academy or meeting three First Ladies. Her smile was infectious and her laugh, joyful and jubilant.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday (tomorrow), December 8, at Bliley Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. Interment will be West End Synagogue Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
