Gary Goodman Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas D. and H. Mae Goodman. Gary served in the United States Army and was a Career Firefighter/EMT with Henrico County for 28 years. Many of his fellow firefighters became lifelong friends. At one time, he was a scratch golfer, competitive bass fisherman and recorded over 30 jumps as a skydiver. He was also an avid hunter, music lover and proficient guitarist. He had a great sense of humor and dry wit, which he never lost. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Gillette Gardens of Meadowbrook Country Club at 1 p.m. on April 23, 2021. Masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Henrico County Firefighters and Families Charitable Foundation (HCFFCF), P.O. Box 5730, Glen Allen, Va. 23058.

Gary came to my shift at Station 6 fresh out of Rookie School. We caught a "working structure fire" his first night at the station. It was fun to watch! We remained friends throughout his career. Funny guy and always willing to lend a helping hand! RIP my friend!
