I met Gene thru Frankie, 20 yrs ago. He later became best man at our wedding. He became my friend as well as Frankie's. His talents were many. He recently carved a bird sculptor for me.He had such a deep & captivating voice. His visits & phone calls were enjoyable. The phone at our house was silenced this week.{no calls from Gene}.
Life ended for our dear friend. He will always be remembered.

To Gene's family, our prayers are with you. Detective Merlenbach was
a great police officer and a gentleman who always had a smile and kind word. We will miss him.
We worked together for several years
and he was always there for you.

My condolences to the family and friends of "Jitterbug." May the memories and good times be always remembered. I knew Gene through working in the court and found him to be a gentleman and always having a smile and kind word.
