My condolences to your family. It is a rare experience in life to encounter people like George Mercer. It was a great pleasure to have known him.

I have heard it said that the true measure of a man is the way he treats those who can do nothing for him in return.
I worked in the Mixed Grill at CCV for 7 years (1980-87) and had numerous opportunities to observe the Mercers and the Fergusons during their family dinners. My recollection is that of such a loving family, well behaved children and a kindness that radiated from each family member.
Mrs. Mercer, my prayers will especially be for you to have the peace that surpasses all human understanding. You will be together again, but this time for eternity.
Mr. Mercer was a truly a gentleman and always treated the staff with such respect and kindness.
Remembering you all with fondness,
William Tatum

Dear Mercer family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I know that George was a wonderful man and I have very fond memories of him and your mother when dad(Ralph Jones) would take us by to see them. One of the memories includes the madam eva's....
I have missed seeing them. Unfortunately, I can not make the funeral, but know that I will be thinking of you. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
