Gladys Throckmorton Obituary
age 92, of Mechanicsville, went Home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024. The widow of the late Thurman Throckmorton, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Audrey Leigh Johnson; grandson, Jay Schools; mother, Lula Bell Martin; and Aubrey L. Johnson. She is survived by her precious daughters, Cathy Kidd (Jimmy) and Judy Schools (Jimmy); four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Gladys was a life-time member of Highland Springs Church of the Nazarene.
A celebration of Gladys' life, with a period of visitation an hour prior, will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Interment will follow in Hanover Memorial Park. bennettfuneralhomes.com

Dear Family,
I was sorry to hear about Mrs. Throckmorton. She was always so sweet whenever I would see her. She was a good friend of my late father Raymond Lumpkin. Those two could talk for hours on the phone. Most likely about Bluegrass Music and the Lord. I'm sure they are continuing those long talks in Heaven with other family and friends. Sincerely, Ronda Lumpkin Mathews

We are sorry for your loss of such a vibrant lady. Gladys always had a sparkle in her eyes, especially when she talked about Thurman. Time will heal the pain but never take your memories.
