I've known Glenn since 1989 when I started in the O.R. I remember the first time I met him. I was still "wet behind the ears" and went in to observe an ortho case. Glenn was scrubbed at the field. The surgeon asked him for an instrument which Glenn didn't have and he asked if he could use another instrument instead. It was something about him that impressed me to no end. Over the next 11 years that I worked with him, I was fortunate enough to gain him as a friend. Glenn was always in a good mood. You could always count on him for a laugh. Glenn also had a different side to him. He had to be the most caring and compassionate man I knew. Having the opportunity to work with Glenn, it makes you understand why he chose nursing as a profession. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and relatives. He will be missed by many.

I met Glenn for the first time back in May of 1988 during my first week on the job. I was a sales representative for an orthopaedic company and stayed with this company for 17 years which required me to work closely with Glenn. I had the pleasure to work with him often over the years and everytime I came to MCV to cover a case or just get some work done, Glenn always made me feel welcome and his jokes kept us all going right up until I saw him for the last time about a month ago. If Glenn didn't like the way something was being done he would let you know with his sarcastic humor that would break the ice during difficult cases. Those that knew Glenn very well were lucky to have such a good friend and I was fortunate to know him both personally and professionally. He loved his job and the people around him and treated everyone with respect. I spent a lot of time over the years covering late cases helping teach the residents new products and Glenn made those experiences anytime of the day that much more fun. No one could ever fill Glenn's shoes as he will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him. My heart and prayers go with him and his family during this very difficult time. With Kindest Regards, Greg Hudak

I first had the priviledge to work with Glenn in the ICU @ MCV in 1983, and then again when I joined the OR team in 1995. No matter how difficult a time he might be having at work, Glenn always had his sense of humor, and was always willing to help anyone. He will be greatly missed by so many.

I grew up with Glenn and have thought about him many times over the years. When we were kids I thought he was one of the most intelligent, funniest and nicest people I ever knew [& I still think that]. My heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, his children, his brother and all the nieces & nephews. For many years I loved Glenn as though he were my own brother. I know we will all miss him.

Glenn was a fantastic patient advocate and a role model as an operating room nurse. He was my right hand man for many years and a good friend. Glenn's sense of humor often would help us through some pretty rough times. I miss him greatly. God Bless all of you, my thoughts are with you. Peggy
