November 6, 1941 - August 6, 2025
Harold (Butch) Vaughan Kirby, 83, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on August 6, 2025. Born November 6, 1941, in Richmond to the late Inez (Gammon) and John Kirby, Butch was a Lieutenant for the Richmond Fire Department for 30 years and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond for 25 years.
Butch loved watching sports and working in his yard. He was also an excellent cook. He was a long time member of Patterson Avenue Baptist Church and is a current member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anne W. Kirby; his loving sons, Vaughan and Tim, and his grandson Skylar.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Bliley's Funeral Home 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, Va. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will take place privately at Mount Vernon Memorial Park.

I did yard work for Mr. Kirby for over 10 years and he was always very kind to me and my workers. Never rude, always smiling, and he was always thoughtful enough to give each of the guys Christmas gifts.

Anne, Vaughan, Tim, and Skylar,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Anne and I worked together many years in the Accounting Department, etc. at A. H. Robins Company and also served on the Rockin' Robins Retirees' Planning Committee for many more years. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings to you as you remember and celebrate Butch's life.
