Helen Payne Obituary

PAYNE Helen E. Payne, 89, of Richmond, fell asleep in Christ on Tuesday, October 24, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Arthur and Ruth Dobson Payne. She was a member of the Forest Hill Christadelphian Ecclesia. Miss Payne was a longtime employee of the James E. Crass Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where she retired in 1982. She is survived by her three sisters, Doris P. Stephens, Lois P. Hewitson and her husband, George, and Janice P. Burd, all of Richmond; one brother, Joseph A. Payne Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Newport News; five nieces, five nephews, 13 great-nieces, 11 great-nephews, one great-great-niece and three great-great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 26. Interment following at Maury Cemetery. The family wishes to express many thanks and much gratitude to the Hospice of Virginia and the Third Floor Nursing Staff at Johnston-Willis Hospital for their kind, warm, and compassionate care that she received during her illness.
