Hilda Taylor Obituary
Hilda Robbins Taylor, 92, died November 8, 2024, at her North Chesterfield home. Born April 2, 1934, in Gloucester, Va., she moved to Richmond to attend MCV's School of Nursing and never left. For decades, she advocated for Virginia United Methodist Homes and volunteered at The Hermitage Richmond. In 1999, the United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries named her National Volunteer of the Year.
A member of Beulah UMC for over 60 years, her welcoming nature and sincere interest in everyone she met are small examples of her many spiritual gifts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter B. "B.B." Taylor Jr.; her parents, Fannie Mary (Corbell) and Joseph F. Robbins; siblings, Jeannette R. Moody, Doris R. Sears and Clinton "Steve" Robbins; and her youngest son, John C. Taylor. Survivors include son, Baxter B. "Backy" Taylor III (Katie); daughters, Catherine T. Turner (Sonny) and Susan T. Leathers (Larry); grandchildren, Brooks Taylor IV (Ashley), Lindsey Lankey (Trey), Lucas Taylor, Haley Roberts (Sam), Stefanie Turner, Tabitha Wade (Mike), Martin Leathers (Hannah), Thomas Leathers and Alex Yokum (Trevor); and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life begins at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Beulah Church, 6930 Hopkins Road, N. Chesterfield, 23234, with a visitation an hour before the service. A reception will follow.
Memorial donations to the Hermitage Samaritan Program, c/o Hermitage Richmond Business Office,1600 Westwood Ave., Richmond, VA 23227, or your favorite charity are appreciated.
