Richmond, VA --- Iralin Crowder Peple , 82 died peacefully in her sleep March 13, 2025, at her home in Westminster Canterbury in Henrico, Virginia. Iralin was born January 8, 1943, in Pulaski, Virginia, to John and Virginia Crowder.

Iralin is survived by her husband of 58 years, Stephen, G. Peple, sons Stephen G Peple, Jr, (Patricia) and John Brian Peple (Allison), grandchildren Kathrine Jane Peple (Kate), John Daniel Peple, Michele Parker and great grandson Roman Parker, and her brothers Gary D. Crowder and John Karl Crowder (Karla) and their families.

Iralin attended George Wythe High School (class of 1961) in Wytheville, Virginia. After high school she became an RN after graduating in the first class of Richmond Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. (1964). She worked at MCV in pediatrics, Richmond Memorial Hospital on the OBGYN floor and Henrico Doctor's Hospital. She was also very active in her church, St Paul's Episcopal Church, serving on the altar guild as chair and team leader. She also worked Lenten Lunches; serving as chair twice and co- chair once, helped with the Emmaus Lunches, ECW liaison for St. Paul's, Sunday school, and worked with Karatos among others. As a devoted mother Iralin was actively involved in her children's lives; soccer Mom, room mother, chauffeur, after school safe house for the neighborhood, and a staunch advocate for her sons' education at times battling both teachers and principals.

A service celebrating Iralin's life will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Saturday April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at the church. For those who are unable to attend the service it will be live streamed on St. Paul's web site; stpaulsrva.org.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Iralin's memory to the St. Paul's Altar guild, Peple Scholarship at the University of Richmond, , Friends of the Boatwright Library, U of R, or Westminster Canterbury's Fellowship Fund.

Iralin's family wishes to thank everyone, especially the third floor Parsons Health Care nurses and staff at Westminster for their tender loving care and devotion shown while caring for her during her illness. Many a day and night they went beyond what was expected to make sure she felt safe, comfortable and loved.
