Irving Koslow Obituary

KOSLOW Irving Koslow, 85, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died suddenly at his home on March 28, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosalie; his daughter, Marilyn Liroff of Plantation, Fla.; his son, E. Mark Koslow; daughter-in-law, Susan Gaible of Richmond; his sister, Sophie Preskell of Hollywood, Fla.; five grandchildren, Erica Grub and husband, Elliot, Lisa Teitler and husband, Scott, Heather Fishbein and husband, Ross, Jeremy Koslow and Geoffrey Koslow; and three great-great-grandchildren, Even Yisroel, Azariah Teitler and Andrew Grub. Irving was the owner of Standard Hardware and Supply on East Main Street for 40 years. He served in the Army during WWII. With the Jewish War Veterans, he was the State Department Commander of Virginia on the National Executive Board, and he received an honorary life membership. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge #53 and #302 of Virginia. He served as past District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 15C, Master and Secretary of Fraternal Lodge #53. He was also a member of Westhampton Lodge. With the Scottish Rite, he was a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor and Class Custodian. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave. Interment will be at Sir Moses Montifiore Cemetery. The family requests no flowers and that contributions be made to the Scottish Rite Child Language Center or Hadassah.
