Jackson Fox Obituary

FOX Jackson Clarke Fox, 13, passed away when returning home from a Boy Scout venture on Sunday, November 5, 2006. Jackson was a straight-A seventh grade student and a member of the Junior National Honor Society at Southampton Academy. He was a member of the JV soccer team. Jackson was passionate about all that he did. As a member of Boy Scout Troop 17, Jackson earned 22 merit badges in just two years as he moved toward his goal of becoming the youngest Eagle Scout in his troop. Jackson also served as assistant patrol leader and dreamed of becoming one of the only scouts in America to earn every merit badge. Jackson played soccer and basketball at the YMCA, and also was an avid reader. He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing with his dad, and hunting with the Indiantown Hunt Club. Even at a young age, Jackson was dedicated to his faith. He recently completed confirmation and served as the president of the UMYF at Capron United Methodist Church. Jackson loved animals and hoped to attend Virginia Tech in order to achieve his goal of becoming a veterinarian. Jackson loved to laugh and joke, especially with his family. Survivors include his parents, Clarke and Beth Fox; brother, Thomas Fox; grandparents, Trent and Joanne Fox and Doris Roundtree Glenn; aunt, Enca Glenn; uncle, Russell B. Glenn; aunts and uncles, Trent and Tiffin Fox, Courtney and Whit Day, Cliff and Carol Fox; cousins, Olivia and Ford Fox, William, Alexander, Christopher and Edward Fox, Ashby, McGowan and Madison Day. Jackson was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Fleet Glenn. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Capron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Capron Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests memorials be made to Jackson Clarke Fox Scouting Memorial Fund, c/o High Street United Methodist Church, P.O. We have been on a west Texas trip to visit son Stephen and daughter Carolyn and learned of your sorrow while on the trip. I have been so tearful that I have not been able to call you, as I would cause you to cry more, too. I am just devastated for all of you, such precious family members. Please know that you are in our special thoughts and prayers. I cannot begin to imagine the amount of grief you are suffering.
