James Robert Heffler, Jr.

April 30, 1932 - April 28, 2025

James Robert Heffler, Jr. (Noonie), 92, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Shackelford Heffler; parents, James Robert Heffler, Sr. and Lucy Carter Heffler; and his sister, Bernice Gay Wilson. He is survived by his five children, Jerry Heffler, Cindy Simpkins (Lawrence), Dorothy Elliott, Donna Higgason (Guerry) and Carol Williams (Brian); seven grandchildren, Alex Ross (Anthony), Lauren Anderson (Charlie), Jamie Simpkins, Rhonda Elliott Alexander (Wayne), Travis Elliott (Tina), Evan and Lucy Williams; as well as five great-grandchildren, Oliver and Jude Anderson, JT, Eli and Lucas Elliott; two nephews, Lynn Wilson (Vernah) and Jimmy Wilson (Cheryl); and his faithful caretaker, Myrna Alexander.

Services to be held at Shepherds United Methodist Church, St. Stephens Church, VA, on Sunday, May 4th. Family and friends may gather for visitation one hour prior to service from 2 to 3 p.m. Service starts at 3 p.m.
