James Mines Obituary

James Henry "Slim" Mines of Dawn, Va., departed this life Sunday, March 2, 2003 at Henrico Doctors Hospital. He is survived by five daughters, Deborah Morris, Nannette Morris, Janice Mines, Katina (Walton) Minor, Danielle Mines; one son Perry (Pamela) Mines, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Arlene (Wesley) Tillman, Lena (Ellerson) Courtney, Elnora Smithers, Josephine (Steward) Carter, Rebecca Wilson, Shuronda (Larry) Few; father and mother-in-law, Thomas (Lillian) Tillman; six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, three aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday at Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dawn, Va. Interment church cemetery. McCarthy, Director.
