Jane Reed Fields

June 20, 1934 - February 4, 2026

Jane Reed Fields, passed away peacefully February 4, 2026 in her Richmond, Va., home. It is with great sadness that we announce her passing. She was born on June 20, 1934, to Charles Larus Reed and Edythe Robertson Reed in Richmond, Va. Jane graduated from Collegiate School, enjoying the academic, athletic and social atmosphere, and went on to attend Hollins College. Her French teacher at Collegiate would be proud of her grasp of the language that stayed with her all of her life. Jane was an active member of Third Church, who loved God our Father, living a life of generosity and kindness. She served in many capacities, including helping with the Christian Arabic Church mission project and serving for more than 10 years as the Trustee and Secretary of the Third Church Endowment Corporation which was established many years ago by Stanley Reed. Jane also greatly valued her time volunteering at Pregnancy Resource Center. She married the love of her life, James Holbrook Fields, and they enjoyed their marriage for 69 years, until he passed on October 7, 2022. Jane lived her life joyfully placing other's needs above her own always. She is survived by her children, James Holbrook Fields, Jr. and wife, Lynn, Sarah Fields Jensen and husband, Tim, John Reed Fields and wife, Robin, and Louis G Fields III. Also surviving are Jane's grandchildren, Jay Fields and spouse, Dana, Samuel Fields, Charlie Fields, Jacquelyn Jensen Seidel and spouse, Anthony, James Jensen, Jonathan Fields, and Nathan Fields; and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her much loved grandson, John Reed Fields, Jr. A private graveside service will take place in Hollywood Cemetery.
