Dear Mrs. DeHart and Marcia,
I am deeply saddened to receive the news of your loss. When I lost my Dad last July, it was so nice to see Mrs. DeHart. We reminisced about old times on Thurloe Drive. I also remember good times at Thompson Middle School and Huguenot High School. I will never forget the day that I met Jeff in November,1966 during the Notre Dame/Michigan State football game. I was visiting a neighbor of yours (the Lumpkins). Chris and I came over to your house and I met Jeff. He was listening to the game on the radio and we listened together until the game was over. We became close friends from that day on.
I often tell my son Mark of the time when our families took us to the old Broad Street Station to board the train to attend basketball camp at North Carolina Wesleyan University. Jeff and I were proud that two (2) young teenagers were able to live away from home for a week and learn how to play basketball from the pros. My prayers are with you both, as well as with Jeff's wife Dorothea and son, Jeff.

Marcia, I was truly sorry and saddened when I read of your brother's death. I have memories of he and I riding in the back seat of your mother's car while she drove us home from school. I do not remember why I was being given a ride home, but it seems to me that she did that more than once. On those occasions I fondly remember having intense discussions with your brother about sports and the major contest of the season, whatever that happened to be. He was a rabid sports fan then and I suspect he remained one until he passed away. His obituary jarred my memory and I wanted to express my sympathy to you and your mother. I remember the kindness shown by you and your mother, and I am sincely saddened by your loss.
