To Beloved Uncle John and the immediate Family:
He will be sadly missed. However, this is a celebration and Homecoming. Ida Belle, Uncle John's oldest sister and my mother, has delighted in seeing John "come home." All of the fond memories of Hot Springs and the family will be shared between them. They both fought a good fight and lived a beautiful and useful life.

Mr. John Sheffield was a kind and caring man. I thank him for the guidance he gave me in as a youth and for having the best laundromat in the westend!! Heaven has surely gained an angel.

To the Sheffield Family,
You have our deepest sympathy in the passing of John Sheffield. I was fortunate enough to meet the John Sheffield family when they very first drove into Richmond and arrived on Leigh Street. I have felt like family ever since. Our prayers are with you.
