Ken was the most positive and caring principal! I worked with him at Hopkins Elementary in the mid-'80's. He said "do it if it will help the kids."
My deepest condolences to all all of his family, friends and church community.
Peace and love,
Nancy Riddlemoser

Ken was the second principal of Hopkins Elementary. Ken was not just a principal, he was a kind and generous leader. His humble nature was more than just a principal, more like a Father, not only to the staff, but to the school community. Ken wanted the staff, parents and students to have love and respect for each other. And that is just what we did under his leadership. Rest in peace Ken. Your legacy will never be forgotten at Hopkins Elementary.
Always, Angela Valentine (Hargraves)

Ken was my principal at Hopkins when I was a young teacher. He was absolutely wonderful in the way he supported his teachers, and loved each student. I think of him so fondly.
Quick story-Jan 1987. It was the Thursday before my wedding, and I was a frazzled bride and young teacher. As I ran my class to the bus loop at the end of the day, I saw the buses were all gone, and my entire class had missed their buses. As I froze and panicked, Ken put his arm around me and told me to go home-the office would handle it. Then he said, "If you weren´t getting married......" with a sweet `glare´ and wished me happiness.
I will never forget him.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I worked with Ken at Bellwood Elementary and treasure those times with him! Ken was such a wonderful principal and simply a good, kind, caring man. I learned a great deal about children and teaching from him - what a blessing he was to so many teachers and school families!
