Lewis Maye Obituary

Lewis Wilson Maye Sr., age 78, departed this life September 16, 2002, quietly at his home. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Garry T. Maye; one daughter, Brenda M. Jackson; eight grandchildren, Derrick Maye Sr., Michael Maye, Lewis Maye III, Tory Maye, Joya N. Maye, Danielle Fife, Arika Jackson and Lanai Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Derrick Maye Jr., Jaleah Maye, Alexis and Aleasha Maye; three sisters, Emma Green, Mable Mason and Ruth Morton; one son-in-law, Ronald Jackson; one daughter-in-law, Faye G. Maye; two brothers-in-law, Jesse Williamson and Donald Greene; one sister-in-law, Alice W. Taylor; one uncle, Roosevelt Green; two aunts, Jessie Gaines and Florence Robinson; seven nephews, 12 nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends, among them a beloved and devoted friend, Eva Boateng. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille and three sons, Lewis Wilson Maye Jr., John Q. and Carl B. Maye. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 19, 12 noon at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3509 Midlothian Pike. Rev. J.I. McCrary, pastor, officiating. Entombment at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. After 11 a.m. Thursday, remains will rest in the above named church until hour of service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services, assemble at the church Thursday, 11:30 a.m.
