Linwood Daniel Obituary

DANIEL Linwood Doyle Daniel Sr., 91, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 20, 2006. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacquelin D. Vaughan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Emily B. Daniel; son, Linwood D. Daniel Jr. of Richmond; seven grandsons, R. Wade Carmichael and wife, Cathy, Daniel Carmichael, Paul Carmichael and wife, Lauren, Brandt Daniel and wife, Sarah, Joseph Daniel, Zachery Daniel, and Jonathan Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Nicole Carmichael and Travis Carmichael; niece, Charlotte West; and nephew, Arthur Johnson. Doyle was born in Brunswick County and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1934. He served in the U.S. Navy Intelligence in Norfolk and Pacific Seventh Fleet in World War II. He was a Research Lab Supervisor at Dupont for 43½years. For the last five years, he served in employment and hired All Wage Roll employees. He was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Stockton Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon Chairman, Sunday school teacher and trustee at both. He was a current member of Monument Heights Baptist Church. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, October 27, at Monument Heights Baptist Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monument Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 5716 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226.
