Lois White Silk

Lois White Silk, age 83, of the 3100 block of Sterling Way, Portsmouth, and a long time resident of Richmond, Va. died on March 27, 2003 in a Chesapeake hospital. She was a native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Patrick Silk. She was a retired executive secretary for the Director of Personnel, City of Richmond, and a member of Bon Air Baptist Church, Richmond. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Ann Gardner and her husband, Dick, of Portsmouth, Va.; brother, William F. White and his wife, Marilyn, of Knoxville, Tenn., grandchildren, Thomas S. Gardner and his wife, Lori, and Lisa Gardner; and great-grandson, Colin Sturtevant Gardner. The remains were shipped from Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth, to Hockaday Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. for a funeral service on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Gene V. Primm. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral Home Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.
