Lonnie Ragland Obituary

Lonnie Woodson Ragland Jr., 81, of Goochland, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Childress Ragland; two sons, L.W. "Woodsey" Ragland III of Goochland and Stephen Michael Ragland of Richmond; grandchildren, Lonnie Woodson IV of Goochland, Michael Lance, Cynthia Maureen and Stephen Michael II, all of Richmond; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Benjamin, of Goochland; two sisters, Helen Ragland Taylor of Goochland and Ruth Anne Ragland Givens of Richmond. He was predeceased by his sister, Evilee B. Rutherford. Mr. Ragland was owner of L.W. Ragland Company, Inc. for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Norman Funeral Home in Goochland. The funeral service will be at Byrd Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 21, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Byrd Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Byrd Cemetery Company, P.O. Box 655, Goochland, Va. 23063 or to the charity of your choice.
