Lorena Hilbert Obituary

Lorena Kirpatrick Hilbert, age 99, of Richmond, formerly of Kents Store, died September 1, 2005, in Ginter Hall West Nursing Home. She was born July 30, 1906, in North Carolina, daughter of the late John R. and Lenore Rodgers Kirkpatrick, and was the widow of William Joseph Hilbert. She was also preceded in death by one son, John W. "Billy" Hilbert; three brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Hilbert was a member of the Byrd Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired 30-year school teacher. She is survived by one sister, Virginia K. Morris of Kents Store; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy C. Hilbert of Powhatan; two grandchildren, Gayle Taylor and husband, Jeff, and Hunter Hilbert and wife, Laura, both of Powhatan; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 4, at the Byrd Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jim Thornton. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial donations be made to the Byrd Chapel United Methodist Church.
