Louise Kallman Obituary

Louise Marie Oleniacz Kallman

September 23, 1954 - April 3, 2025

Louise Marie Oleniacz Kallman left us on April 3, 2025, surrounded by friends and family after a brave battle with cancer.

Louise was born on September 23, 1954, in a U.S. military hospital in Berlin, Germany, as her parents, Chester J. Oleniacz and Louise Marie Dauer Oleniacz, were serving at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. Later, the family moved to Northern Virginia, then to Munich, Germany, and back to Virginia.

Louise came to Richmond to study at VCU. Throughout her working career, she wore many hats while connecting with people and leaving the places better than she found them.

The job that was always most important to her was raising her children, Katie and Colin, and later her grandson, Brantley. Even in the face of life obstacles, Louise led with love and grace, always putting family first.

Louise's deep connection to nature was undeniable. Her gift for gardening proved that everything she touched flourished. Birds sang and frogs hummed in the backyard paradise she created.

Louise was predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Patricia Oleniacz Vance. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ronald Kallman; her children, Kathleen McCulley (Brian Scalf) and Colin McCulley (Marie); her stepchildren, Lee Kallman (Faith) and Monica Moehring (Tim); her grandchildren, Brantley, Pierson, Ali and Sander; and her siblings, Mary Eckert, John Oleniacz and Joe Oleniacz.

Her smile was the light. Her heart was the good. Please feed the birds.
