Mark Erhardt Obituary

ERHARDT, Mark Stuart, journeyed on peacefully July 14, 2023. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of family and friends. Mark was always Mark - determined, funny, intelligent, curious. He always gave his all. Mark's life was filled with many adventures and he had no regrets. He made our world brighter - we love and miss you, Mark.

If you would like to remember Mark, take a motorcycle ride in the mountains, go kayaking in the ocean, take a long road trip with no strict agenda, do something fun in the great outdoors or watch a beautiful sunset.

A celebration of life will be held in Elkton, Virginia in the future.

I have thought about Mark this past year. I recalled the time when in our 30's I was learning how to snow ski. Mark and Tom took me up to the intermediate slope and I panicked going down. Mark got in front of me skiing backwards and held my hands all the way down the mountain. He was an amazing man. And the best brother in law anyone could have asked for. I'll always remember him with a special place in my heart.

Mark, Buddy Phelps and I have been close friends since we were in elementary school and neighbors. These pics are from a more recent get together, a gathering of elders. Mark and I rode from our inn up to Mt. Mitchell. Mark was always ready for the next adventure and his presence assured that it would be one to remember! He´s irreplaceable and already missed.

Mark was one of the most down to earth,do anything for you,and best friend that anyone could ever ask for. A man of his word, and lots of words with a bit of humor at all times. If you were to ask what kind of man should ride a old harley panhead, mark would have been that man.One of his best friends Robert Miller,AKA.,Too Tall,(R.I.P) always asked,How did mark make that panhead so dam fast? I pray that the two are now sitting together discussing the panheads together. Both will be greatly missed.

I´ll never forget the time in my early thirties trying to learn to snow ski. I was terrified and Mark made me look at him the whole time while he held my hand and skied backwards down the mountain talking me through it! He was a wonderful brother in law and a good friend.
