Mary Shelton Obituary
Mary worked as a banker with Southside Bank.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, William S. Urquhart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Shelton; her daughter, Julie Urquhart Strong and husband, Sam; her grandson, Matthew Strong; her beloved dog, Sophie; as well as extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Rd., Waynesboro, VA.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Augusta Dog Adoptions, 4224 Wakefield Rd. Richmond, VA 23235, or to your local SPCA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville, VA.

Julie and Ronnie - we extend our sympathies to you during this time of mutual sorrow. Missing the times when we would walk Winston and his sister Sophie would tag along to give Mary a little respite. Bob misses the opportunity to come over and straighten out Mary's Lumos tuner! Although the separation from Mary hurts right now, know she has rejoined all her family that passed before her. Rest and abide we will all reunite at the choosing of the Almighty. Rest now, we will meet again.
