Opal BERRY Obituary

BERRY, Opal, 65, of Doswell, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by two sons, Carl Jr. and Ricky Berry; two daughters, Kathy and Bobbie Jo; two daughters-in-law, Sheila and Dee Dee; two sons-in-law, Alan Shelton and Jimmy Leadbetter; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Norma and Ruthann and her poodle, Pal. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Carl Berry Sr. She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where the family will receive friends two hours prior to services. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens.

I remember all the times as a kid watching mom(Norma), Renie, & RuthAnn gather at the table to play cards, along with the rest of the family. Im sure she is in heaven playing Bingo, poker or Yatzee. She will forever be in our thoughts and our hearts.
