Patricia Barlowe Parrish (Pat) of Gum Spring, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2024. She was 90 years old. Pat, a native of Roanoke Rapids, NC, was born to Jay and Lucy Barlowe and had seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, V.R. Parrish; daughter-in-law, Charlotte R. Parrish; and grandson, Alexander H. Parrish. She is survived by her three children, William Jeffrey (Michele), Karen Sue Parrish, and Leslie Parrish Whitney (Chris). She was "Granny" to three granddaughters whom she loved and adored, Rachel, Rebecca and Kathryn and great-granny to Owen, Kaia and Bodhi. She also leaves behind three special family members, Jonathan, Alyssa and Samantha; and her dear niece, Juanita Parrish Pryor. Pat had many close friends; those being her neighborhood and church friends and countless others whom she became friends with from her 18 years of working at the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. Pat was a member of the Salvation Army Women's Ministries and a lifelong member of Gum Spring United Methodist Church where she enjoyed spending time with her UMW family. Pat loved to paint, travel, sew, cook and take bus trips with her friends and family.

The family wants to extend a special thank you and recognition to Traditions Health Hospice Care group and the Terrace Club staff at Sunrise Villas Tuckahoe for their love, care and support over the past three months.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Gum Spring United Methodist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Interment will follow the service at Gum Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery, with a reception, afterwards at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gum Spring United Methodist Church.
