Earlier today

Dear Pat, Lauren, and Kathryn -
So sad to say goodbye to Kirk and I have wonderful long-ago memories of his great sense of humor, his warmth, friendliness, and his artistic skills. I remember his filming on Jockey's Ridge probably in the 1970s or early eighties, and his kindness to let my teenage son help with filming many years ago. Love this photo of him. I look forward to seeing you Wednesday. He was such a great husband, father, and grandfather. . .Sending so much love, Sally

Yesterday

Pat, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Kirk. I remember you telling me that he had not been well. May you find peace in knowing that you will meet again one day. May the memories you have sustain you during those difficult times. May you, Lauren, and Kathryn have peace that passes all understanding.
