My sympathy goes out to Peter and his family. I had the privilege of working with Peter when he started the Crystal Coast Golf packages with the golf courses and hotels in the Morehead City and New Bern area of North Carolina. He was a hard working and fun person, and I learned so much about the golf course business from him. I remember traveling with him and asked if he wanted or had been to a NASCAR race and his reply was "I rather watch paint dry" !! He was so knowledgeable about golf and it´s history and loved the sport and all aspects of his craft . I remember asking him one time why 18 holes of golf?? His reply was "that was how long it took the Scots to drink a fifth of scotch".- cheers to all who knew Peter and he was the finest of a gentleman!!!

My condolences to Peter´s family. It´s been 40 years since I was kid playing golf at Willow Oaks. He was always a gracious host in the pro shop, and he was a very fine teacher of the game as well.

Many of the most fun times of our lives were spent with Peter and Gena. The banter between them made for a happy time. Peter loved people and had a joy of life that was often filled with humor. His wise sense of humor made us laugh. He got a kick out of people both old and young. Life was fun around Peter until ill health robbed him of enjoyment. Hope he is filled with joy now. Wishing Gena and the whole family comfort!

Peter Hodson, a friend, family member and one of the finest people ever known.
My husband and I were first introduced to Peter when I was assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Belvoir back in 2010.
Having always been in love with golf, instilled in me by my WWII POW/MIA grandfather who served in the Army Air Corps in England, Peter and I were golf "purists" and chatted about the game slot, while he helped me learn and develop my swing, despite my physical limitations.
Peter along with the rest of the "Richmond Trio" made our Saturday's the best and he was so proud when I got my personalized Ping Clubs.
The world is a much dimmer place without Peter in it and both Howard and I feel so deeply honored and privileged to have known and had Peter in our lives.
Prayers and our deepest sympathies to the entire Hodson Family at this difficult time.

Peter Hodson was an extreme man of integrity and delivered his love for the game of golf to me, as a soldier when I was assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit following my Medical Evacuation from Iraq.
I loved participating in the Links to Freedom program at its original location at Fort Belvoir, VA. He told me I was a golf purist when it came to learning the game, and he appreciated my desire to learn as much as I could from him and the rest of the Richmond Trio.
From witty banter to chatting about golf news as well as my WWII POW/MIA grandfather who worked with the RAF in England, Peter was a kindred spirit, and the world is a much dimmer place without him in it.
Prayers and blessings during this difficult time to the entire Hodson and Links to Freedom family.
Love,
Jennifer and Howard Brande
